Abstract Summary
According to the Center of Disease Control, there were over 1,500,00 cases of chlamydia reported in the United States in 2016. Is this figure in line with the recent past or does it represent a rise on the incidence chlamydia? This project's aim is to look at the trend of chlamydia rates within the USA over 15 years and see if factors such as income have any correlation to it.
We used the Center for Disease Control's AtlasPlus database to gather information needed for the analysis. We extracted data for the general population as well as data separated by gender. The statistical program R was used to perform different analyses such as logarithmic and linear regression to discover the prevalence rates. Using data from the Census Bureau, an analysis was also made to discover if there is a link between income and the rate of chlamydia.
