Exploring Patterns Using Non-Parametric Processes in High Resolution Coherent 3-Dimensional Spectroscopy

This abstract has open access
Abstract Summary

Spectroscopy uses the interaction between light and matter to create spectra that are used to determine the structure and behavior of atoms and molecules. The transition from traditional one-dimensional to two- and three-dimensional spectroscopy can give more information about the molecules or samples under study. The purpose of this project is to use one of four possible nonparametric four wave mixing processes to determine what kind of new information or capabilities it provides. The predicted 2D and 3D patterns, shapes, and behaviors can be compared to experimental results in order to test the validity of our theory.
