This abstract has open access
Abstract Summary

Recently, Community Mental Health initiatives have been brought to the forefront due to China’s government health policies lagging on the professionalism, normalization, and effectiveness of mental health programs. The purpose of this study is to examine the current state of China’s Mental Health Reform with a focus on its impact on younger generations. My method of data retrieval consists of Content Analysis. Content Analysis will be conducted with interviews, scholarly articles, and graphics. I argue that Chinese youth are inadequately informed about their mental health. I will make proposals for a more productive integration of mental health in China’s education system and home life to improve the Mental Wellness of Chinese youth. I will not only critique pre-existing mental health initiatives in China but also analyze the gaps in China’s health care policies and their education system that further negatively impact mental wellness.
